    I'm sure everyone knows, but for the sake of conversation;

Xtra-Vision have a promotion on at the moment where you can rent 1 dvd for 1 day for 1 euro.
2 dvds for 2 days for 2 euro etc.

Basically, everything that's not a new release is up for grabs!

I went in yesterday and got In Bruges, American Beauty, La Vie En Rose and The SOUND OF MUSIC :D

tiz a good deal, although it shouldnt be a deal, it should be what they are usually charging imo

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,852 ✭✭✭Glenbhoy

Doesn't make up for the fact that they hold popular titles as new releases for an inordinately long period, thus charging €5.25 (or is it €5.75) a night for same.

how long is this offer on for?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 493 ✭✭thealltimelow

still on now its 5 films for 5 nights for 3 euro dvds or blu-rays

  • Registered Users Posts: 831 ✭✭✭Gregsor

    Cool!
I must in a grab a few,if i remember the offer was excluding Blu-ray 3-4 weeks ago according to the signs up on the shelves anyway.
I was going to put a Q to the assistant but she was been held up by a person deciding on which phone to buy.
    Still,bring on the deals :D.

That offer is no longer available. The offer is now:

    5 DVD's for 7 nights for €5.

Or you can rent them out for €2 each a night.

anyone with tesco clubcard tokens can buy a book of 12 rental vouchers for 16.50 worth of tokens. I belive these can be used for new releases and games!
    Details on the tesco site

Yeah I see they changed the €1 a ngiht deal to €2 a night and they even have the same DVDs on offer. My Xtravision had Blu Rays in the €1 for a night deal too.

Has anyone heard about the MidWeek movie deal, where you can rent a new release DVD for €3 from Monday to Thursday. I saw an ad on TV for it but saw no mention in store of it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,634 ✭✭✭jenno86

The new rental deal Monday-Thursday on New Release DVD's is:

    2 DVD's for 2 night for €6

    or

    4 DVD's for 4 nights for €12

To rent one for one night is €5.35 so its not a bad deal. At the weekends the deal is:

    4 DVD's for 4 nights for €13.

I think the 4 new releases for €12 during the week is great value (€5.25 for a new release for 1 night is a ripoff). Loads of good films out at the moment too.

Ha My sky movies subscription is cheaper than the two bottom prices!!! Those prices belong in Rip Off Ireland and not bargain alerts IMO!!! No wonder these video shops are going into liquidation when its cheaper to get sky movies than 4dvds or more.

I can see your point alright, but some people like to see movies straight away when they are released on DVD, so they rent them. Another thing would be people generally don't like to be tied into a contract and have to pay each month, if they dont watch the Sky Movies they will still have to pay for it. Whereas if they want to watch a movie they will rent out a DVD or a BluRay.

How much are you paying for your Sky Subcription? If its less than €13 I want your deal!!

Sorry to bump an oldish thread but does anyone know if the 2 movies for €6 deal includes Blu Ray movies or just DVDs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,224 ✭✭✭Kramer

Yep, blurays included, in my local branch anyway.
