    Hi,

    I'm wondering what the story is with private v public schools in Dublin.

    I will be moving to Dublin from Cork with my partner and daughter next year and we're trying to decide where we'll send her to school. Private primary schools isn't as much an issue outside of Dublin, but it appears to be more prevalent in the capital. She'll be starting in montessori (aged 4) September 2010. Can someone please advise on;
    a) whether its worth considering private and the type of fees you're looking at?
    b) The type of lead times/demand for public abd private schools in Dublin.
    c) Any good schools in the Dublin 6/6w area?

    Would appreciate any help you can lend!

    Thanks

    My niece went to a private school in Dublin for a couple of years (Won't mention the name). It seems that some of the teachers were not properly qualified, the school year was shorter than the regular year and academically, they were disappointed.
    I suppose all schools are different but it didn't work out for my niece. She transferred to a local primary school and is doing much better. They are also not paying an arm and a leg!

    I would imagine you'll find it hard to get a place in a private school, most children seem to be put on the list at birth.No harn trying though.
