Is it possible to get tv stations from Mexico and South America on satellite here?

Would I need to buy a separate dish to Sky? Are there satellite engineers who could advise/install? Is it expensive?

Years ago I was able to get some analogue ones from panam sat which was at the limit of my motorised dishes stretch west.

You won't be able to get anything from a satelite aimed at that part of the world due to the axis of the Earth [the footprint is beyond the horizon so a dish here will not see it].

I havent researched it,but some satelites may offer a re beaming of channels from there for spanish or portugese customers-so perhaps look into that.

Galavision was available on panam sat as was the excelent Cnn headline news.

    Not anymore though :(

The Televisa package is still available on 3R at 43w, 6 channels from mexico, not sure how much the sub costs now tho.

As for CNN Headline News (aka HLN) thats currently fta on 15w along with CNN US and Fox News US, tho for how much longer is debatable if idiots from satellites.co.uk keep posting Youtube videos of the surveillance flights!

You might get something on C band using a 3.7M mesh dish. None of the regular Satellite direct to Home (Ku) for Americas are recievable here. The Sats mentioned are mostly for Transatlantic feeds.

Many regular setboxes don't interface well with proper C band gear.
