Hi mully the last game was on a sunday this game is on a friday so a 3 pm start wont work ,and we had to change the structure to make it a one day event , as the last time we were in dundalk the game went for 19hrs , i try and change as little as i can , i run all my games in the same manner as would expect to find the games i play in .
    Regards Paul

I've played all these events to date and feel the structure is as good as it can be for a one day event. Trade offs have to be made, these are what they are, as in one day poker tournaments into which magnificent multi day event structures cannot fit. As I said I've played them all and find the structures excellent.

This may seem like a silly question but is the tournament on this Friday or was it on last Friday? There are 2 differant date sin the OP.

should make this paul. no problem with new layout whatvdo people want festival structure for 1 day event. u cant have people heading home at 11 the next morning after a 1 day event doesnt make sense.really enjoyed last 1 se u next week. baz

yea of course i understand that there is issues with the duration of the tournament, that much is obvious really.

however, there is ways around this that is quite easy to implement that does not comprimise the quality of the structure, i mean u can include EVERY single level, and prehaps adjust the blinds to like 20 mins, if there is an issue with the time. i actually didnt realise this event was on a friday, so obvs there is gonna be an issue there. i mean if u ran this on a sunday at like 3pm u could have a world class structure, but that another issue.

in my opinion it is much better to have shorter blinds and include every possible blind level rather than skip levels, i think that works best. missing out levels just seems terrible to me.

its just a personal thing as im a bit of a structure geek lol and im not in any way tryin to have a go at anyone. gl with this.

As a player aswell I understand your concerns Mully,
however, as anyone who played our game in castlebar can confirm, I will always pause/ rerun levels based on the blinds at the time and the average stack.
I like to keep it at about 10 rounds average at least if at all possible ;)

yea fair play to be fair uze seem like progressive tournament organisers, its just that the previous game in dundalk was just brilliant, it really was a world class structure and a pleasure to play in, personally i just hate playin tourneys that skip levels, it happens a lot in live games, but the first bruce poker game in dundalk had a 100% perfect structure no one can deny that.

We will be looking to cater for all players nationwide.

I think the closest to the south-east will probably be somewhere in the Waterford area

We're expecting numbers of at least the same as our last event in Dundalk which was just shy of 150.

As for directions, head straight up the M1 all the way to Dundalk (about 30 min? - also there is a toll on the way so bring some change!)

The hotel is almost the first thing you meet coming into the town - you can see about 5 miles out on the road anyway! :p

What are the numbers looking like for tonight?

    Hi Ciaran,

    Numbers should be decent tonight.

Its a good location between Dublin and the North so it tends to attract good numbers from both sides.

Will be plenty of side action aswell!

Hope to see you all later! :)

    Regards

Sorry about the delay in the results to be posted, was away from a computer all weekend.

    Basically we had disappointing numbers.

Kicked off just after 8 o'clock and final number of entrants was 62 :(.

But of course we made up the prizepool as it is Guaranteed!

So in the finish up the payout was €10,000 scheduled to pay the final 8.

When we hit final table a deal was done to take money from 1st and 2nd to pay 9th and 10th.

    10th - €150 - Rob Tyler

    9th - €150 - Paul Dempsey

    8th - €200 - Ciaran Corbett

    7th - €300 - Gareth Tuite

    6th - €500 - Derek McMahon (Our freeroll Winner!)

The final 5 decided to chop it evenly among them (€1,740 each), although after the payouts were done I didn't get a chance to get the names.
    The ones I have are:
    • Sunin Maan
    • Willy Clyne
    • Eugene Flynn
    • -
    • -
I think the names are correct, if not I'm sure I'll be corrected ;)

Also if anyone knows the 2 missing names please insert them!

There was initially 4 tickets for the Jockeys Accident Game included in the prize money, unfortunately nobody wanted to take the ticket which is disappointing considering its for such a good cause. If anyone would like ticket we have them in supply and will try and run a couple of Sats for it in the Glenroyal in Maynooth this Friday.

Im really living up to my bubbleboy name. Went in 11th here . I was going very well until we got down to 2 tables and i went totally card dead for 3 levels . Then i gave myself the kiss of death when i asked for a change of deck and the first 2 cards i see are AK and i shoved UTG and got 4 callers. The board ran out A 2 5 and chkd round and the turn was a 4 and willie bet out and they all folded and willie shows me 44. Ughhh.
I really enjoyed the game and another good run without cashing, Maybe soon i will make that elusive final table and take 1 down . Well done to all that cashed and to Brucepoker for another great event.

I promised myself I'd log on here and post on your thread and say thank you for the well run event. (I can't text on that number you have) There was plenty of play , so much so that we had no real option but to chop it at nearly 7 am in the morning. 62 players was disappointing but there were still some fine players there amongst us not so fine players.

Thanks a lot for the evening, the dealers were all in great spirits despite the very late finish, and my apologies for not taking the WAD event ticket, I would have but I can't be 100% sure of making that date. I hope I can make one of your next events.

nice touch on returning my torn 50 Euro note I entered with right smack bang on top of the others notes in the envelope. I had a laugh this morning when I was counting out the loot.

    thanks

    WIllie Clynes.

    PS LOL Liverpool.

well done willie, was thinking about playing this friday but the 7am finish has put me off, must be lots of play in these events with the finishing time.what time would say a £150 freezeout with 15k stack the same numbers and structure finish at roughly would anyone guess out of curiosity.
    thanks
