Selling in the USA

I put this up in accountancy but there were no takers, maybe someone here knows:

I am in the process of getting a patent for a product I am going to launch in the USA, probably in Dec 2010. I was under the understanding that because the business was being conducted there I would have to pay US corporate taxes (35%~). My accountant reckons that because I will have the company set up here and I am a resident of Ireland that I can trade from here and pay Irish corporate taxes, even though the goods come from china straight to the US and are all sold in the US. It just seems unlikely to me but great if it's true. I know loads of US corporations base here but I thought that was to do with IP where there is no physical product being sold so you can "sell it" from anywhere.

Please read the charter re specific tax advice.

I'm going to leave this open for now but if you have an accountant hired- talk to him about it.

People can comment if they wish but I expect to see heavy disclaimers.
