Hi, Im not sure if this is the correct place for this but I am hoping to start up a private limited company to carry out contract work. I was just wondering if anyone knows the process and the steps which have to be followed. I have been told that it is possible to do this on my own without getting an accountant involved. Thanks

    Hi

There are plenty of company formation agencies who will properly form a company for you for you for about €200.

This is money well spent as if you do not know what you are doing you will only be storing up trouble for yourself down the line.

You need to submit the following to the CRO:

    Memorandum of Association
    Articles of Association
    Form A1
    and the CRO Filing Fee

The form A1 needs to be sign by a solicitor or a commissioner of oaths.

The cro has ready made Memorandum of Association & Articles of Association but I think it might be best to get some help from someone who knows what they are doing. If you know someone who already has a limited company ask them for their advice.

    For more info see cro.ie

worth mentioning, your company needs also to be registered for taxes with the Revenue Commissioners.
