    I am looking for a laptop , mainly for downloading music , internet and stores pictures ,
    Can any one tell me where around the louth area is a good place to purchase or even outside louth ?

    PC World, get the cheapest thing they have & buy extra RAM for it online.

    Try to get one with a version of Vista you can 'downgrade' to XP.
    Your requirements need practically no video or processing power, anything you spend above €500 would be completely wasted.

    I've bought a couple of laptops from laptopsdirect.ie and found them excellent.

    They do great deals on Acer which are very good all round machines. You can still get machines with XP installed from them but if you do go for Vista then get as much RAM as possible

    ehm....yes.....for.....ehm.....downloading music and stuff. Definitely not for online gambling and p0rn, honest Mum! :D

    If i were you i'd get the laptop in Dunnes Stores their selling right now.
    It was 499 is now mark as 399 and i believe at the till it's only 339!!! :O

    It comes with vista home premium with the option of Vista Business downgrade(xp)

    It's a dual-core intel processor, with 2 gigs of ram :O

    If i needed one it's what i'd get even if it was 399...
    The only downside is it's harddrive only 120gigs.
    But lets face it, you'll need an external harddrive anyway!!!
    Then pick up 1terrabyte harddrive to store all you've movies and music on.
