    hey!

Just wondering what the story is with getting a broadband connection in Oz? Like i have the 3 wireless modem here at the moment for 19.99 a month direct debit, but needed to have a current bill with my address, and a drivers license showing my address etc to get signed up!
Does the same apply for OZ? Because I need one pretty much straight away, and we won't have bills etc. to prove our address! Also can anyone advise on a good broadband company/good value etc.

Thanks a million in advance! Amy:D

Contact 3 and get them to put you on to the roaming plan. When you land just choose Australia as your location and away you go. You will continue to get billed €19.99 a month

or you can get pre paid mobile broadband over here - i think the modem will cost over $100 or more though + credit.

look up vodafone , optus , telstra , and you should get a price package

I've just done the research on prepaid broadband here in Sydney, and 3 are the cheapest. It's 120 for the modem and you can get 2 gigs for 29 bucks. Coverage with Telstra is supposed to be a lot better but it's way more expensive.

but if the original poster keeps their existing deal they have a free modem and 15G a month of approx AUS$34. Just need to ask 3 to turn on roaming

    is even cheaper
    $50 for modem (after cash back) and $19 for 3Gb (1peak / 2 off peak) or $30 with 9GB (3 peak / 6 off peak)

but the catch is that it never works outside a big city
