Does anyone know how to extend a wireless network to a PS3? The main router is in another room and the signal is very weak where the playstation is. Does anyone know any way of extending the network that's compatible with a PS3?

    All help appreciated!

    How big are your rooms?

I had my router and PS3 in separate rooms for months with no problems.

I would suggest you buy a stronger router.

My router is a good 10 metres away, through 2-3 walls and i don't have any problems with it. (I used to have slow patches but that had to do with provider)

You could have a nat-type problem, if its online gaming where its visible. This mainly has to do with important stuff like firewalls so i wouldn't recommend doing too much with that

I have found that the PS3 built in wireless is not great, I've had major issues with COD 4 & 5 with stats being reset etc and have managed to rectify the issue by wiring the PS3 into a Linksys WRT54GS running tomato firmware and set to wireless Ethernet Bridge and I've had no issues since doing this no kicks from games and no stats resetting

How are stats resetting caused by the wireless connection?? :S

Ask your neighbour to position the antenna's towards your PS3

    :D

My router is the one Eircom gave and the ps3 is 2 rooms away and keeps saying that signal strength is less than 10%

Through concrete walls? How many feet is 2 rooms away? 10% is unusable.
Even with an external hi-gain antenna you would struggle to reach 50% with the setup you have described.

Keep the doors open, works for a buddy of mine, gets him from 10/12% to 35-40%. Wierd:confused: I know but it goes from unusable to adequate for a large portion of games

my router is from BT. It's upstairs and ps3 is down stairs directly underneath. no problem with signal. try and plug the router in the same room as your ps3 and see if that improves it first
