I want to buy a new television to be hung on the wall in our kitchen cum dining room. We plan on watching a lot of tv in that room. The room measures 9.5 metres by 4.8 metres. Wondering what size tv would be appropriate? And also, what spec do I look for when buying a tv -I dont understand much about pixels or hd etc and would appreciate some advice:confused:

See here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055552947 ,MY Advice is get this one http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-13-42P604 TV in power city 899euro .
Get at least 37inchs screen if you think thats too big.
1080P MEANS IT can display any hdtv signal from xbox360,or ps3,or skytv hd.
THAT has 2 hdmi connectors 4 connecting 2 hd devices.
THE philips tvs are cheaper cos they are made in dublin.

Philips TV's are made in Dublin?

Anyway, I'd say 42" as a minimum, and yes, 1080p resolution. If you're considering digital terrestrial signals, ask for a TV with MPEG4 DTT tuner (all current Samsung "B" models have it).

I've a 47" Philips 1080p lcd tv wall mounted in the kitchen and it seems a perfect size. :)

PS. the room is roughly the same size as yours.
