    Needs very careful consideration dude.

Firstly what's your interest - driving or restoring? I.e: if you just want a 'Stang to drive, go to shows in etc then there are some really good deals to be had out there right now. If you are more interested in restoring that's a different gig but beware that you will likely spent 2-3 times the original price of the car on a good resto.

I don't know how experienced you are in this league but here's some basic info for you:

Avg cost to buy resto project coupe in need of pretty serious work: €5k
Avg cost to restore same: €10k
    Total cost: €15k
Avg cost to buy pretty good finished coupe: €10k
    Savings: €5k

Avg cost to buy resto project F/B in need of pretty serious work: €12k
Avg cost to restore same: €15k
    Total cost: €28k
Avg cost to buy pretty good finished F/B: €20k
    Savings: €8k

In fact I know of an absolute MINTER of a '69 Mach1 F/B that is totally immaculate with brand new interior that will go for less than €25k. Easily worth €30k in better climes so PM if interested and I will put you in touch with owner. This particular car is turnkey and perfect in every way.

Best of luck with your project dude!

Tom, don't mean to offend but:

The first one looks pretty good but I know someone that went to take a look at this car and it is in a pretty bad way and still expensive for its condition.

As for the second one, CAN OF WORMS!!! (Never mind the fact that it is a V6 and doesn't belong anywhere near a F/B of any discription!)

hes looking for an out of shape mustang so they fit the description,
and youd be looking to pick up a fastback for anywhere near 20k here or in england

There's Fastbacks and then there's Fastbacks Tom - all depends on the condition. A serious minter for €25k is a great price. I'm talking ground up 'nut and bolt' resto with not the slightest bit out of place. As for the project, it depends on the OP's needs - if he's more in to restoring than driving let him at it. If not it will cost him considerably less to buy a finished project. The choice is his own. I don't have any idea of his level of experience hence the base nature of my post.

    Here's my idea of MINT:
(If you can find anything like this for ,€20k please let me know!)

I have a 68 coupe, I bought it in very good condition, no major problems at all. Last night i was doing a rough calculation in my head and was horrified, I've spent 8000+ on it in about four years, not including running costs. Last month I discovered my springs were dead, that will be another 600 please :(

I would hate to think how much it would have cost had I bought a rough car needing work. For every extra euro you'll spend on a car buying it you'll save about two in the long run. Don't buy a car to restore if it's your first classic.
