    Has anyone used Rosetta Stone, or do you know of anyone who has:

    I want to brush up on my French and my Irish and I was thinking of them. If anyone could advise me about them I would be very grateful.

    I've used it for Irish. It's ok - but too expensive. It tries to create an immersion environment, and for most part - does it well. Let me know if you need to know anything specific.

    Thanks for your response. I was thinking of using the internet version which is cheaper, but then once your membership is up you cannot go back and use it again.

    I am just looking for good resources for getting my French and Irish up to speed. I did my leaving cert more than 10 years ago and I got a D1 in French honours and C1 in Irish honours. My understanding is pretty good in both languages but I struggle to produce my own sentences.

    Any help or links at all would be most helpful.

    If there is a conversational group in your area, I'd say that's your best way to learn Irish. Not sure about French convo groups, but you could see if there is any in your area.

    That's a good little course for free - just burn it on aa cd, or put it on your ipod and listen to it when you have a chance. Buntus Cainte is pretty good too. You'll pickup the 3 books for 15 euro altogether. Well worth the invest!

    To only thing that will help you with producing sentences is through immersion.

    I just "acquired" the rosetta stone v3 French levels 1 2 and 3.

    Was wondering if anyone else was starting out around now and wanted to do a discussion group thingy? Im from athline but out of work on disability at the moment so have nothing but free time and am willing to travel to Dublin/Galway/wherever on day trips once a week or so.
