Bluetooth mouse problem with HP laptop...Help..

    Hi everyone,

a few months ago I bought a Microsoft bluetooth Notebook mouse for my laptop ( a "Notebook Mouse 5000" to be exact).

It worked fine for a while, but now every once in a while the pointer and buttons stop responding. It will work fine again 10 to 30 seconds later. It's so frustrating to work with !

I changed out the rechargeable batteries I was using, and replaced them with brand new Duracell ones. This seemed to work for a while, but in the last few days the problem has come back. (Batteries are fine; put them in a tester and they measured at 100%).

I've also tried turning off bluetooth on my Mobile phone in case this was causing interference. Also tried pressing the bluetooth re-sync button on the mouse. The mouse is definitely within range because it's right next to the laptop...

My laptop is a HP Pavillion in the dv6000 range. I think some of these models have known wireless LAN issues (and that the bluetooth and WLAN are integrated on the laptop), but the internet works ok.

How do I figure out if the problem is with the laptop or the mouse...?

The only way to rule out that is to use an independent Bluetooth Receiver. One or two online reviews even when they are outright flaming the mouse they mention "At least the Bluetooth works" so maybe it is an internal bluetooth thing. Maybe the internal device is overheating.
