I was just wondering if anyone got any of their photos done on an Acrylic Frame.

I was thinking of going with this crowd whom are in Ballsbridge in Dublin.

Muji has DIY versions of some of these frames. Perhaps not quite as slick (though it might be if done well) but very substantially cheaper.

I'm pretty sure Creative Framing in Stoneybatter do this cheaper. I've used them before for different (wood) frames and have been consistently impressed with the service.

Jaysis they're expensive, there's cheap acrylic frames here

If you want a quote for printing PM me, it'd work out cheaper than going to picturebloc.

its not the same thing your comparing there

a quality product has both diamond and flamed polished edges, and not just simple polish

also the type that are just held together with the print sandwiched between 2 bits of acrylic are hopeless, they add virtually no protection to the print (be it UV or other)

the type of thing that both I do and picturebloc do uses very high quality laminate to bond the print to the acrylic, it adds a factor of 4 in terms of UV protection etc

Also a small hint, if you are doing one of these you need to have the print done or certain papers, most papers actually dont work and cause lots of problems

They're selling diamond polished products at the link I gave and for the price difference with picturebloc I know what I'd be going for lol

Prints I do get laminated so they're protected and can be done on canvas, vellum, or cotton rag.

Ok - I'm calling a halt to the discussion between various providers of product. Having stated that you are available to do some work is as far as the forum will allow (and i can tell you that this is stretching the boards site policies). Commercial interactions aren't generally allowed and any debate between types of product need to be conducted in private between the individual seeking a product and prospective suppliers which have identified themselves on the thread.

I'm asking that no further commercial notices / debate occurs as it doesn't serve the OP well which was to find out where and if anyone had used picturebloc. After finding out where it can be done, it will be up to the original poster to contact / conduct the negotiating / bidding process and this must happen off thread.

Keep it clean people. Any further debate between commercial providers will be treated as ignoring moderation direction and will be dealt with through normal infraction and ban's as appropriate.

    Thank you.

i got 3 done by Steve at 360DPI, i cannot stress how good they were, won awards for the prints(imo mostly based on the framing) and i have them up in my house, the only shots i have up (and i studied photography, so that says a bit). It wasnt silly expensive, but it wasnt something cheap either. Its quite dependant on the images as to how they will work, but I would suggest dropping down the Steve and he will go through it all and the different options.
