Have Mass Effect 360, thinking of getting PC version - am I mad?

So, Mass Effect is one of my all time favourite games, and I'm thinking of giving it another play through soon (the trailers for ME 2 have got me excited).

I got it on the 360 cos I didn't want to wait 6 months for the PC conversion and even if I did want to wait I didn't have a powerful enough PC. Anyway, now I do have a powerful enough PC and I will definitely be getting ME 2 on the PC.

I'm considering getting the first one for PC too - but is it just a waste of money? Are the improvements - graphics, controls, better team mate management - worth it? One thing I really disliked about the 360 version was the insanely noticeable texture pop-in and load times - are these resolved in the PC version?

Another reason for getting it on PC is that your actions in the first game will carry over into the second, so I'd like to do that and not start the second game with a blank slate.

Then again, it is 40 odd quid on a game I already own....

tbh I've not played Mass Effect, so I can't comment on the game itself.
That been said the PC does typically offer additional content via fan made modules. That and the superior control system offered by the PC versions normally ensure I go for a PC edition before a console one.

Assuming that is the case with this game then I'd say go for it, otherwise you're not really getting anything additional.

I've seen both versions at work (only played the PC one though) and the improvement in graphics is very noticeable. Didn't notice any texture pop-up myself, the view distance was far enough for me not to notice.

Load times might well have been reduced, but the mechanic for hiding them hasn't. You'll still spend 10-20 seconds standing still in an elevator, with maybe a 5-second dialogue to keep you company.

Even with the current DLC, it's still pretty short. And the story is still the same. Your choice.
