    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Seems like a good deal. But you'll be very disappointed owning and driving it compared to your A6. Would you not just fix it up?

That is incredibly cheap. But considering the fact they never sold well because they were so expensive when they were new, it's wine, it has 115,000 miles and it's 1.8, it would want to be. As unkel said, fix the A6 rather than buy that.

on the other hand ...how wrong could you go with 3.6k for an 06 car with decent spec and slightly "different" design?

Worth an extended test drive at any rate.

It's a shame that it's such a low spec with a puny engine. I could think of about ten reasons why I shouldn't buy it but then you look at the price and the year....

I'm having real trouble with the idea of looking for a bank loan to fix my €1000 car bringing recent and current repair bills to €3,000. Not when I could get (assumption) a loan for a little more and have a relatively respectable modern 2004 car under my arse. I know that if I get back on my feet financially over a few months I could possibly do the necessary with the A6 and let this go for something like what I paid for it again...

It certainly wouldn't be the last car I'd ever own but in terms of a cheapo to get me out of a hole, it could be pretty good. I've told him I'll take it subject to the usual diligence. He seems like a decent guy and he told me any work will be sorted including belts etc....

Anyone know a decent mechanic down that way??

Did you bargain on price etc.?

The above makes for interesting reading. I'd be curious to see what they're like, I've only ever passed a handful in my time.

IIRC, all UK signums had sat nav as standard. I;m guessing the irish ones didnt?

To be brutally honest, i think the 5 door vectras were better looking despite being a lot cheaper for what was essentially the same car

This was the shape i was thinking of but a quick look on carzone tells that theyre aint any 04 ones for anything near the price of that signum. Ironic considering the signums were a bit dearer day one. 30K for that one your viewing maybe?
