Hello,

Could anyone tell me the cost of employing a solicitor to defend a "disorderly conduct" charge in NI.

My friend was charged with this for using "foul language" in a public place.

We went to court today to have a look at similar cases. The judge was handing out £200 fines for fun. Infact it did not matter what defence was provided, with both those with solicitors and people defending themselves getting the same fine.

Unless the solicitor was under a hundred pounds, I think it would be pointless in employing someone.
