Currently the TV Show of the Week.

Without doubt the funnest show on telly. If you've never seen it, I implore you to buy it. You will NOT regret it!

More or less unheard of this side of the water but really should be seen by more people.

    Chuck - Season 1 DVD

Chuck Bartowski, ace computer geek at the BuyMore, is not in his right mind. That's a good thing. Ever since he unwittingly downloaded stolen government secrets into his brain, action, excitement and a cool secret-agent girlfriend have entered his life. It's a bad thing, too. Because now Chuck is in danger 24/7.

Executive producers Josh Schwartz (The OC, Gossip Girl) and McG (Charlie's Angels, We Are Marshall) merge
techno-gadgetry, martial-arts smackdowns, narrow escapes and gorgeous spies in short shorts into this action comedy about a millennium Everyguy. It's "Get Smart for a 24 world" (Troy Patterson, Slate).
PS - don't let Joss Schwartz and McG's involvement put you off! :D

hey now Schwartz's shows are great, and McG is also involved on the other best show on TV, Supernatural.

I personally loathe both 'Gossip Girl' and 'The OC'.. what I mean is that 'Chuck' couldn't be further away from those shows.

Yes.. but did you see 'Charlies Angels'? ** shudder **

Not to mention his involvement in the inevitably disappointing addition to the 'Terminator' franchise?!

Salavation, if anything, looks like it will be the best blockbuster of the year that doesn't have JJ Abrams' name plastered over it.

Terminator 3 did Salavation a retro-active favour by flatlining expectations.

How are those rose-tinted glasses?! ;)

Ah no.. I just think it looks dreadful. And I think McG is the anti-christ!

McG, the producer isn't bad (Supernatural and Chuck are proof of this)
McG, the director - don't get me started. :)

It seems the more hands-on he is, the more he is likely to **** it up. :)

I recommend Chuck though... absolute bargain at this price.

As Mr. E said, as a producer he's had his hands in some very good shows, but yes, no one is going to try and defend Charlies Angels or its ilk.

Salavation looks great in what it's doing - and so it should wth such a large budget. It's got a good cast - despite being, ahem, intense, Bale rarely appears in crap - and the proper setting for a Terminator sequel. Obviously it's impossible to say defintively that it's going to be good or bad but most things point to an interesting addition to the Terminator series, and personally, I'd be more certain of it not being a disaster than I was of Star Trek before it was released.

And to end the derail thanks to the OP for this. Been trying to get friends into this but they're too cheap to spring for the dvds.

Season 1 was good but definitely not the funniest show on tv. Season 2 though would probably almost definitely be. Thanks again OP :)

(Also McG is a tosser and Salvations will probably be crap.)
