I think I am wearing the wrong size bra and have heard it can make your boobs look smaller, which I don't want so I want to measure myself but don't know the 'rules' and numbers etc - didn't want to google it with it being a work pc!

    Ta!

Why not just wait until you get home and google it? Are you really desperate to measure yourself in the jacks at work?

Or go and get measured for free in any department store.

Yep its definitely worth going in somewhere like M&S to get measured :) though sizes can range from store to store!

I'd recommend Arnotts if in Dublin. Most of the time, women wear too big a back and too small a cup. If your bra rides up at the back, then that's probably what's wrong.

If you dont want to get measured and are willing to look at home www.bravissimo.com have a couple of handy video tutorials to show you how a bra should properly fit etc. as they believe the tape measure method is not very accurate, I went from wearing a 38 E to a 34 G after having a proper fitting with them!. Cant recommend these people enough, learned alot from them, all my friends get me to fit their bras now refuse to go to m&s la senza etc., now only if they'd open up a store here so I would have to go to England to get a decent bra fitting! Damn genetics!

    Hey OP

If you order a catalogue off this crowd they'll send you a marked measuring tape

Seriously thought you're much better off going to get measured in a department store. M&S, Debenhams, La Senza, Arnotts and not 100% but I think BT all have a fitting and measurement service. I know some people can be a bit embarrassed about it but they make you feel totally comfortable and they've seen it all before!!!

I made a couple of my mates go and get measured and I swear it makes such a difference. A corectly fitted bra is a necesity!!

I would definitely get measured properly if I were you. Sometimes measuring yourself can come up with the wrong size. There are people in most lingerie departments/shops who will measure you properly and pick out different styles for you.

If you are worried or embarrassed about it, don't be. You don't have to take your own bra off and the girls who work in these places are usually fantastic.

    I found this,
Thought it might be of use!

    http://www.85b.org/bra_calc.php

You basically measure around the bottom part of your bra, in inches or centimeters, then do the same for the middle and top part of your bust and enter the figures into the little boxes!

If I could manage to find some sort of measuring device, I'd give it a go myself!

Closest thing I'd probably find in my room is a ruler! haha! :D

If you do measure yourself at home make sure you try on bras in that size before you buy to ensure they fit.
