If a notice for particulars is raised by a defendants legal team and it asks for the names of a plaintifs doctors/medical persons does giving them the names and addresses allow them to contact them for your records or reports?

No. They request the name of your doctors so they dont instruct the same doctor to assess you on their behalf. They may also want their doctor to consult with your doctors (which is totally normal) in relation to a medical report on their behalf. If they are looking for records from your doctors, they are required to go through a process called Discovery and it would be your solicitor would would contact your doctors looking for records but only with signed Authorities from you.

There are various reasons the defense team may want the details of your doctors including the fact that some doctors are more plaintiff friendly in their reports then others.

They are entitled to this information and any medical information which would have a bearing on the personal injuries to which the personal injuries action relates under section 11 of the Civil Liability and Courts Act 2004. They can seek a court order dismissing or staying your case if this information is not provided

    As an aside
