iPhone does NOT like water

My jailbroken iphone went for a swim today. After drying it out using rice, it seems to be responding. It keeps switching between the initial apple logo (the one you see when you switch it on) and the "insert USB link to PC to get music" diagram.

Itunes recognises that it is in recovery mode but I cannot use iTunes to fix it because it will brick the phone in the process.

Anyone know how to proceed? Do you think it's fixable?

Hey, if it's jailbroken and you reset it using itunes, it just puts it back to factory settings and you have to jailbreak it again. This happened to my phone when my computer shut down during an update, and I just jailbroke it again.
If it's unlocked however i'm not sure what happens.

    It's unlcked to Vodafone.

Itunes only gives me the option to reset AND upload the latest updates, which will prevent it from being jailbroken again (is that a word?)

Restore it already! Worry about the jailbreaking aspect once you confirm its actually fully working again..I'd leave it in a hotpress for 2 solid days to FULLY dry it out and be 100% sure you've done all you can to get rid of moisture.

I restored it successfully, and it is working perfectly with 2 exceptions...

    1) The battery is lasting about 7 hours on standby (a few calls made)
    2) When the battery dies, the phone goes back into recovery mode

ANy ideas on how to resolve or am I better getting a new phone?

I would get a new phone if you can, as water damage always comes back to haunt you in some way.
