    Hi Guys,
I wouldnt generally turn to the internet EVER for advice but after doctors advice we are a bit baffled.

My mother got a private test on her heart last month up north to check if anything was wrong, just a gerneal checkup on the heart (ECG just)...

It showed she had what looked like an MI (Myocardial Infarcation?? or a heart attack :O), any way her GP done a more extensive ECG (12 leads) and the same result came up so she was sent to a cardiologist, who done a ECG and a echo and found nothing!! he said the other 2 tests were 'red herrings'. He never asked about her background etc.. she has had multiple operations for gaul bladder, and some other things..

He sent her home without doing bloods or anything, is this normal? or do you think she should get a 2nd opinion, it just seems very dismissive and after 2 tests showing an MI and one not, it makes me wonder which one was actually wrong!!

So, do you think she should get a second, private, opinion.

    Very frustrated.

    Neil

You need to talk to your doctor about this - tests are tests and need to be interpreted. Sometimes tests may suggest something which later on with further study turn out to disprove it.

This question cannot really be answered on the internet.
