Hi, I got a fine a while back for not paying car tax and was given 56 days to pay it. I put it in a bag to bring to work and forgot about the thing, when I went to pack the bag to go on holidays I found it and tried to pay but the payment was rejected by the post office cause I was 2 days late.

I was just wondering if theres anywhere I can go to pay this, I heard it's still possible until you get the summons, is it possible or am I guaranteed a court appearance.

    Thanks

Im afraid its a court appearance for you. In the next couple of months you will get a summons with the court date.

Bah, 2 days late and he hasn't been asked to go to court yet. A little common sense in our systems wouldn't go astray!

If I went to that fixed penalty office in Tipp (the only one's in Tipp ye?) would they be very likely to refuse payment?

It would be a wasted journey for yourself because you didn't pay within the 56 you'll have to attend court its black and white i'm afraid.

saying that, i have seen one case where a person sent off the fine late and it was sent back to them.
he told the judge this and the judge flipped saying that people are trying to pay and the authorities wont let them.
He threw it out of court.
Thats the exception rather than the rule though!!!!!
