Accidentally left my lights on last night and got in the car this morning and the battery was dead. So got some jump leads and connected the batterys to a friends car battery. There was a click and then nothing. Everything is working now, dash board etc but car wont start.

Is it possible the imobiliser has kicked in? If so does anyone know how to reset it. I need the car to go to work tomorrow.

Sounds more like the leads arent drawing enough power from the other battery to charge it. Try using other leads?

If the engine is turning over but not starting it may be the imobiliser..but if
it just makes a clicking noise its like a bad connection (maybe on the battery terminals)

Jump starting modern diesels is not recommened as it can cause a spike of power which can burnout/fry the ecu/bsi system....

A good/safe way is to disconnect the battery connections totally from
the battery+ and - cannect ont he jump leads and charge the battery for
a few minutes from the doner car reconnect and it hopefully start.

The 1.4 tdci is based on the psa engine which are used by Peugeot/Citroen.

Would there not be some indication if it is the immobiliser doing something? Don't know about that Fiesta but on the older ones when you try and turn on the ignition the immobiliser light (red LED next to clock on Mk. 4) stays on for a few seconds if it accepts the transponder, or it will flash quickly if it doesn't accept it.
