Boots outside Jeans... on guys

Has anybody got any thoughts on this. I got myself a nice pair of boots and I've messed around with the idea of tucking a pair of (moderately) skinny jeans into them. I think the look rocks but is it a bit gender bending? Especially considering how popular this look is among girls.

    Thoughts please?

It looks ridiculous. Don't do it unless you want people to think Jade Goody's husband is the epitome of style.

I think it depends on age and style.

If you're a cowboy or look like Russell Brand you can do it! ;)

That is one of the worst looks I've ever had the misfortune to witness:eek:. People may not be so rude as to call you what they think, but why set yourself up for mockery? It looks awful. Looks like a builder wearing rigger boots. Yuk! And that band photo. Any look an entire group of people affects at the same time, means it's too crap for one person to pull off. Safety in numbers and all that.

There is only one situation I can think of wear it would be ok: when a guy puts armored motorcycle boots over protective bottoms and that's only really ok when he is ridding a motorcycle.

It depends really, some people do it well, some people look like bandwagon hopping All Saints mannequins. If you like it wear it,no point in seeking approval on here.

That band photo did it for me, they all look ridiculous. The first photo doesn't look too bad imo though.

Thanks for the feedback anyway, wont be tucking my jeans in. Any tips for showing off the boots a bit though, I folded the end of my jeans up last night and it looked ok.

By the way, the style of the boot is similar to the first photo above with the harness buckle, except it doesn't have the two straps on top.

JRM is a cool dude i think so.

not for an "average" Irish man.

Buy a motorbike. Actually, when I wore jeans instead of leathers on it, I left the boots under the trouser leg. Stretch your legs out when you're sitting down? Put your feet up on the desk? Wear shorts:D

You should only wear them if you were auditioning for the Village People. Otherwise a definite no.

Emmm, not in a million years. Jonathan Rhys Myers looks awful in that picture!

Creamy's right, a lot of people will think it looks gay.

If that bothers you, don't do it, if it doesn't, work away.

It look good if its costume, think fantasy movie Labyrinth, Jareth, the Goblin King. (sexy glam rock star)
But then if you really like this style, hell go for it.
    Life's short.

    My first post.

I know this thread is old, but I'm desperately trying to find boots like this old man is wearing all the way to the left in this picture. It's just a random picture i saw online. new or used is fine... i just haven't been able to find anything like it anywhere.

    Wooderson can do it. dc2.jpg

Think it depends on the outfit and your own personal style, if you have the confidence/arrogance to pull it off.
