    Hi,

I've cramps in my feet for the last few days. I don't have them during training. I think I've read in the past that this indicates a deficiency in some mineral. Anybody have any ideas?

People won't give you any medical advice here, I'm afraid. It's in the rules.

On saying that, you might look up the effects of quinine which is found in soda water/tonic water, I can't remember which.

Best get yourself to a doctor.

I think the no medical advice rule has been relaxed a bit. And this sounds like the kind of question that someone could help with.

When do you get the cramps?
Is it after a heavy training session?
One theory is that cramps are more due to muscular fatigue than electrolyte deficiency. Despite what the sports drink industry would have you believe...

I think you've hit the nail on the head!! Yes I had them in the days following two big training sessions. I'm on an easy week this week and no symptoms at all. I'm pretty good for getting the electrolytes in that's why I couldn't figure it out. I'm able to tough through the heavy sessions so maybe it's my body giving me a bit of a reminder that I'm pushing hard.

    Thanks a lot Mr Creosote
