    Hi,

Am seriously thinking of moving to Canada for work. Does anyone have any information on the medical that I'd have to undergo?
    Many thanks.

Are you just going on a Working Holiday type visa to Canada? If so I didn't know you needed a medical for it.

If it's a permanent or long term visa you will be advised when and where to get a medical. I just did mine for Australia.
It only took less than 30mins, just very basic, looked in my eyes, mouth, ears, felt my neck, weight & height, blood pressure & pulse, eye sight (just the letter chart on the wall), and an Xray (they are paranoid about TB in Australia, so everyone has to get one done).
All this was done at a doctor near me, a panel doctor recommended by the Visa issuing department.
Mine cost €140 for the medical exam & €94 for the xray.
I'm sure it's a similar deal for the Canadians.
If you do get to Canada, they have one of the best healthcare systems in the world, and free for residents as far as i know.

Here's a link to the Canadian High Commission in London who process visas

My husband had to pass a medical so that I could sponsor him through the immigration process.

They did an AIDS test and other than that just checked that he was healthy. It wasn't a huge deal. I can't remember if they did a TB x-ray or not.
