CANCELLATION OF TRINITY TRACK MEET

A meeting was held at 10.00 am on College Park with the Head Grounds man David Hackett and the Director of Sport in TCD Terry McAuley.

The grass track in College Park is very wet due to the continuous rain overnight and with the continuing drizzle and with the forecast for this to continue with some heavy showers during the day and this evening, we have decided that there is no alternative but to cancel the event.

We deeply regret this decision but to have runners on the inside lanes of the track running for over two hours would destroy the grass completely.

The Meet is cancelled this evening due to the weather conditions and the condition of the grass track

Can members please pass this information on to whoever they can.

rdunne, thanks for letting people know about this.

<puts tongue in cheek> how about moving it to the other side and running on the Rugby pitch. It's not like anyone cares about the RP? </removes tongue>

That would make it a cross country meet not a track meet:p

Sorry to hear this but I think the decision is the correct one....atmosphere wouldnt be the same on a day like this.

    Any plans to reschedule it?
