    'Allo allo!

I've been playing poker online for the past 4 years or so and have built up a nice chunk of change from it, my bankroll's healthy enough now and so I was considering heading over to Vegas in June for a lil peek at the WSOP, maybe hit some satellites.

I don't really know any other poker players in real life though, I generally keep it to myself and grind away not talking about it much to anyone.

Just thought I'd say hi and see if anyone's gonna be over around the same time! I kinda wanna get involved in the Irish poker scene too, just cause I love the game, but have no idea where to start!

    Definitely feel weird posting this!

Played a few times in the past few days in the Fitz and just don't think I have developed the patience to transition to live poker yet, but I'm working on it.

I'll check out the starategy boards so, sound

wow if that really is you - nice graph

best way is probably to meet people on here is maybe turn up at the festivals or play a few of the tourneys that alot will play - like Fitz eom or the sporting games if they get going again - its a good way to get to know them and introuduce urself.

Just get yourself an iPod for live poker, there can be some awful dopes out there but in general the majoirty of people at the tables are nice so when you do run across said dopes you can drown them out with some tunes, also when you have beautiful or chesty women dealers at the table it makes the game a little better.

Hey there, as other posters have mentioned just start playing few 20,30, 50 freezeouts and getting chatting to ppl. I have found that poker is one of the best way to get to know ppl.

On a side note, ill be in vegas May 29th - June 6th if you are around, could meet up for bit. Staying in Bellagio. Might also be playing Event 4 or 7 in the WSOP.

Hi jimmyj123456, last month I posted that I played because I loved playing the game, which is true. I received the following in one of the replies:

"OP,Poker is about winning money. Anyone who says the play for the love of the game is either really bad or lying."

As you seem to have built up a decent bankroll I presume that you are not 'really bad'. So if you don't want to be accused of being a liar for the love of God don't say that you love the game! ;)

... also when you have beautiful or chesty women dealers at the table ...

Can't we have both!? It's a cruel, cruel world of chestless beautiful ladies/

i pod is a must for live poker. You can join in a conversation when you want to .

OP, i'm the same. A couple of my mates play poker too but they're never interested in live games coz they're all grown up with jobs and stuff. They'll play in my home game and have home games themselves but not the casinos.

Me on the other hand am still in college at a terrible late age so i dont have to grow up yet, and never have anyone to go to the casinos with.

    Shame!

Booked flights yesterday, gonna be over for the majority of June, decided not to stay for the ME.

I'll probably in the casinos in Dublin a bit before I leave to gain some experience so I might see you's in there!

Play in some cheap 20-50 euro games in your local casino, learn to play live, it is completely different to internet poker becasue ther eis so much more going on. For me i think its much easier to play live, although in some respects i prefer internet poker as tehre are much more hands dealt and its a much quicker pace.

Check this out when you are over. I played a few of these last year and really enjoyed them. Players from all over and lots of WSOP stories. A couple of years of this while finding your feet in Vegas would be good prep for WSOP IMO.

    Nice graph btw. WP.
