This may have been asked before. Apologies if it has.

Is it possible using a DVD hard drive recorder with UPC digital cable to record one programme while watching a different one on digital at the same time?

Yes, no problem. I do it all the time. Watch BBC1 while recording a Film4 movie for instance.

When recording onto the dvd recorder you will not be able to change channel on the digibox. You will however be able to watch any of the analogue channels by tuning them into your telly.

you can. I am at this very moment recording a programme on TV3. I can change to any channel I want on Digibox and it is still recording. No sweat.

Are you using the standard UPC box or the DVR?

Its the DVR with the internal Hard Drive. Can record at any time and still watch Digital TV. In fact, I think I have even watched a recorded programme while recording another, but i will have to test that again.

Right. Thats a different set up that the OP is using with his external DVD recorder connected via a cable.

so you will still have access to the analogue channels? I have a dvd recorder as well and am going for the upc digital package w/o recorder. So i will still keep my analogue channels in parallel with the channels available via the digibox?
