I'm just wondering has anyone come across this.
My other half got done for speeding last July and paid the fine within the 28 days. The other day she got a summons to go to court.
She paid by bankers draft and it was cashed a week later. She rang the office in Tipperary but they didnt want to know and said she has to go to court as it wasnt cashed.
Surely there has to be a way out of going to court as its a complete waste of everybodys time.

    Sadly no.

You will have to prove they cashed it. There is no reasoning with the Thurles office. Once the summons is issued there is no way back.

Your only recourse is to complain to GSOC (I don't know if GSOC covers civilian employees) possibly once the case is dismissed.

GSOC do not cover civilian employees or students (as there are civilians)

Try track the payment through the bank. Produce it in court and you'll be fine, sorry grand:)
