Hello and thank you for this forum. I am speaking french. Be tolerant please.

I'm Jessica, petite frenchie et j'ai acheté - purchased - un UMR 3G Dovado.
Mais pour le faire fonctionner, c'est almost impossible.

    Je m'explain myself :

    wifi connexion : yes
    3G connexion : non

    material :

Acer Aspire One 150, Linpus, Ubuntu 9.04 et Remix 9.04

    Fujitsu Siemens, WIndows XP Pro

Sur ces deux matériels différents, le first un petit netbook et le second une tour, eh bien :

    1. 3G alone = OK
    2. 3G through DOVADO = NO

Moi I do not understand? Everything in the manual d'emploi I follow, mais nothing comes as a result.

    Operators:

    1. Orange with a E220 HUAWEI

    2. SWISSCOM with a HUAWEI K3715 (Vodafone Mobile)

At least the second is listed in the famous table of accepted 3G modem.

And the update of software for the DOVADO has been made with the 20090427 version la plus récente available.

    SO ...

sob... I cannot use my DOVADO with 3G....

    help me please.

If you need return of "code" with linux commands, no problem.
    Such as:

Op you do know this is a mainly English speaking website, also your asking about providers that don't provide services in Ireland.

You might be better off posting on a French website.

Finally your post is not very clear as a lot of it is in French

I think what Cabaal is trying to say is that the main language spoken here is English. Sometimes diagnosing these problems is hard enough but when your post is a mix of French and broken English it's very hard to understand.

We have a French forum and an English Forum which may be able to help you compose your post so that it's clearer and easier to understand.

Otherwise you may have a hard time getting help. That's all. :)

Have you tried getting the internet settings for Orange and putting them into the router?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7 coeurpur

    material : 2 computers

    A) netbook Acer Aspire One 150, Linpus, Ubuntu 9.04 et Remix 9.04
    B) tower Fujitsu Siemens, WIndows XP Pro

    usb 3G dongles : 2 dongles

    I . E220 HUAWEI
II . HUAWEI K3715 (Vodafone Mobile)

    result of connexion:

    1. 3G alone on every each computer = OK connexion
    2. 3G through DOVADO on every each computer = NO connexion

my concern is : how come the dovado modem dispatch wifi (with no possibility to reach internet) ? both usb dongle are operational. when I connect them both are reaching internet (directly on the computer USB port). But when I connect them on the USB port of the DOVADO, nothing happens.

    where is the problem?

I'm afarid no where in your post did you state you wanted assistance regardless of the provider, you may have said this in french but not in English.

Its hard for an Irish user to give you settings which are for a french provider as we are not aware of these settings.

Have you contacted your provider for help?

pardon my ignorance, but why my provider is concerned?

as I write earlier : both key usb 3G working perfectly on the computer when connected to USB port

only when connected to dovado router there is nothing happening

so to my hunble point of view the problem arises with the router

all datas and pertaining information I have entered, such as APN, PIN, username and password. What more can I do? my provider is not concerned. I have all information useful already.

No, what I want to enhance here is DOVADO does not accept the USB key that I have.

That is why I come asking here.

Check over all the settings for your oeprator that you put into your router again to make sure they are correct.

There's also a sticky at the top of this forum which deals with DOVADO routers. Have a look there too.

Does the light on the modem come on when you plug it into the router?

    Hi coeurpur,

Have you confirmed if the problem is connecting to the Dovado router from your Pc or if the Dovado router isn't connecting with the modem?

There should be lights on the side of the router (there are on most) that would tell you if it is connected. If it is then the problem might be on network driver for Linux side. It may not be picking up all functions of the wireless card properly or network card if wired.

I think the problem may be related to the driver in Linux rather than the router. Do you have another device such as a games console you could try with the router to see if it can connect to the consoles store?

You should note that this is an Irish board for broadband and Mobile Broadband technologies. Dovado just have a thread on here for dealing with Irish problems with the Dovado product. They are probably subscribed to that thread and get emailed updates. If you post your information in that thread (or link to this thread in a post there), you might get a response directly from Dovado.

The ACER is connecting with the DOVADO fine :

Need to look at the DOVADO thread as user "Random" said :

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055361790

or send them a "Private Message"

Badly need to get out more if you can't understand the following :

Well I had no problem reading the English bits that you quoted, but there doesn't seem to be a question here. I'm assuming the question was in the French parts, but I have no idea what's being asked there.

This is more useful, as I can see the problem is that the Dovado doesn't connect to either of her modems. That wasn't clear from the first post.

my concern is : how come the dovado modem dispatch wifi (with no possibility to reach internet) ? both usb dongle are operational. when I connect them both are reaching internet (directly on the computer USB port). But when I connect them on the USB port of the DOVADO, nothing happens.

    where is the problem?

No, what I want to enhance here is DOVADO does not accept the USB key that I have.

That is why I come asking here.

I think you've answered your own question. The router doesn't like your modems. If you've come looking for help from Dovado, then you should know that this is not a Dovado forum, but they do post in one thread, and may be able to offer you some help. You should ask here. Keep everything in English though, as I'm not sure if they will understand French.

Looks to me like either the Dovado UMR doesn't support your modems, or you haven't set up something correctly.

Dovado have a list of supported Modems. If the Modem isn't on the list it doesn't work.

The settings for Provider (APN etc) that work with PC are entered on the Dovado Web setup screens.

other alternatives to the Dovado exist.

    1. Orange with a E220 HUAWEI

    2. SWISSCOM with a HUAWEI K3715 (Vodafone Mobile)

At least the second is listed in the famous table of accepted 3G modem.
