Wedding bands - how much generally?

Hi,

Trying to decide whether we'll get a band or a dj at the moment. Would like to get a band, but it comes down purely to cost. Obviously, different bands will charge different amounts, but could someone give me a rough idea of what would be the minimum price charged by a decent band?

We enquired about one band we liked - admittedly they were a six or seven piece outfit - and we were told 2,600 euro. That's way too much for us.

That said, we're not looking for for some cheapo crowd that will sound awful either.

Pointers appreciated.

Anything from 1500 although you would like to think theres scope for negotiation in these challenging times

1500 should get a good professional outfit, and possibly a DJ for after as well. Check out the wedding bands thread.

2600 is a lot of money, but I suppose 6/7 people is a lot of people who need to get paid as well!

For a dj you could check out apollo dj's.I've worked with Mark and he know his job well.
What part of the country is the wedding??
