How often do you change your wiper blades?

I only got some new ones there about 3 months ago .. and I'm starting to think they're going again as the window is all streaky.

It hasn't exactly been a really bad rain season or whatever lately. . nothing more than normal.

How often on average (I know it's a bit of a general one!) should I find myself replacing the wiper blades?

    Thanks

Have you tried washing the blades? Mine are quite susceptible to dirt, they need regular cleaning.

rub the blades with vinegar, or if that dont work, ya might get away with replacing the rubber.

edit: i know its not the time of year but if theres ice on the screen or bird poo that can effect the wipers too

Yeah check for any dirt or something stuck on them. After you replace them once they are never as good though :(

It's not the cost really.. it doesn't cost too much to replace wipers ... just sorta seeing if I should be so soon again.

Will have to have a proper look at them and see later.

I had a lot of trouble with some cheap quality blades the dealer I bought my car from had put on when he "fully serviced" the car. No need to explain the quotation marks there. No idea what kind of wipers you're using but I'll throw my story at you anywho!

I finally got sick of not being able to see out the windscreen in heavy rain, and having all the streaky lines all over the place so I hit up the big car heaven at Carrickmines (read: boy-racer blingfest!) and got myself some Bosch Super Performance wipers with spoilers. One of the fine days we had there last week I thoroughly cleaned the area the wipers sit (failing to do this before made previous wiperblade-changes far less effective - its surprising how many people don't do this when replacing wiper blades!), got some Rain-X, treated all the windows with it (car's a Toyota Sera so practically the entire car is one big window!), fitted the new blades and got the chance later that night to test it out when the heavens opened.
The difference that that 15 minutes work made is huge! Because of the Rain-X I didn't *really* have to use the wipers (at speeds of 80km/h+ the water just rolled off the windscreen) but at slower speeds using the wipers it was like there wasn't even any glass between me and the outside of the car. No streaks, no rivers on my windscreen, nothing. Couldn't recommend those wipers (coupled with the Rain-X) highly enough!

    My 2c.

Change the full blades dont just replace the rubber.
I never use refill blades, cos they're crap.
