    Guys

I know many are aware of gps apps for the iPhone and Nokia OS. I have a HTC phone running Windows Mobile and yesterday I came across GPS Cycle Computer. It downloads and insalls as a cab file on your Windows Mobile device and for a free app it is amazing.

You can download it from google code here.
There is a huge htread on XDA Developers about it here.

It handles elevation, it outputs kml and gpx files, it uses its own clever power management, it does just about everything you could ask for. It has settings for the frequency of gps reads etc. I tried it out on a 44k spin last night. It was deadly accurate (more so than my badly calibrated cateye). I was able to come home and load the trip onto mapmyride.com and see it in all its glory:)

    nice one Ed,

I have the HTC Touch HD, its a loaded device. The only problem is that its a bit pricy. These PDA's are set to explode so we will see economies of scale ad massive leaps in technology and usability. Take you time, the phone you have is a beaut.

Has anyone been using this? I put it on my Samsung Omnia and find the KML files it outputs can be incredibly inaccurate - this morning's cycle (in Dublin) along the Swords road and Drumcondra showed up as Castletimon, Lorcan and Marino finishing somewhere around Merrion Square (when I was at Stephens Green). I'll admit it was in my pocket but it was still accurate for some parts of it.

    hi mark,
I'm using it on country/rural roads around County Galway and it's always deadly accurate. Could it be a maps issue ? or a gps issue ? also, try saving route as gpx file
