    Quick one for yiz,

My car was lifted by travellers which was recovered by the Garda & is now in a scrap yard( Gannons ). Whats the process for scrapping a car??? Will i have to physically go to the scrap yard or can it be done by post & phone??? How do they put a value on the car???

    Thanks all

i take it going through your insurance, if it is then

the insurance company will deal with scrap yard and they will evaluate what its worth in todays market and if it has NCT or not.

You will lose money no matter what, never works in your favour and when finished send logbook to tax office informing them its scrapped

Don't forget you can get a refund of the unused road tax.
