    The RFU are presenting their bid for the 2015 RWC to the IRB in Dublin today. Its an impressive bid and many soccer stadia will be used including Anfield, Old Trafford and Wembley...would be a fantastic event, I'm all for it and its proximity means that the bank wouldn't necessarily be broken following it about...hope they chuck Elland road into the mix too..

    They pulled out of going as a co host after Scotland pulled out of it I'd say the amount of money needed was out of their price range. As such Wales are included in the RFU bid as they would be using the millenium stadium in the groups and for one of the quarter finals.

    A bit more detail, according to the BBC they propose to use;

    Other football stadia to be used in pool matches also include St Mary's stadium in Southampton, Elland Road:) in Leeds, Coventry City's Ricoh Arena and Newcastle's St James' Park.

    Reckon if the bid is successful, it could make for a very fan friendly tournament...

    I think it would be a great tournament, though I would hope Japan gets 2019.

    one problem however will be with both semi finals being in London with Wembley and Twickenham being used getting reasonable accomadation may be a niightmare for that weekend

    Japan, who had been favourites to land the 2011 World Cup, plan to host a pool split between Singapore and Hong Kong.

    If the millennium staduim in Cardiff is going to be used then what about new Lansdowne Road?
    Just like the the world cup tournaments back in the 90's

    It's got to be Japan ffs. Spread the game outside the poxy old boys network.

    I get the impression that part of the whole point of announcing the next two together was so that one of them could go to some kind of developing nation as it was almost guaranteed that 2015 would go to an established nation to make up for the financial disaster that will be RWC '11.

    For the love of all that's holy ditch Wembley that pitch is a death trap. The Baa Baa's vs Wallabies games looked like a nightmare for the players, the surface was the worst iv ever seen in any stadium.

    i just hope that its 1 country that gets it, i cant remember which year the italians are bidding to host it but i hope they get it.
    i dont like the idea of a few countries holding it, it takes away from the tournament when that happens

    I hope the Italian bid is successful. Better weather :D

    I think this time the RWC in England should take place in June/July/August period or so, f#<k the SH and what they want to do. Last time out in France it cut into our domestic season and didn't affect them at all. I know the IRB is a global colaboration but with the ELV's and such it seems the SH nations are being too pushy, I don't care where they are on the world rankings.

    An Englist tournament would make it really really handy for us to travel over for a month long holiday of rugby bliss. Well happy if they got it from a personal point of view.
