If I wanted to get my hair coloured abroad or I wanted to change hair salon can the new salon ring up the old salon and get the exact shade(s) of colour that I am used to?

The new salon may or may not be in the same chain of salons but it will use uses the same brand of colour (eg aveda).

Or do you just have to hope your new salon can match up your colour?

    Hi,

I don't know if you want to be sneaky or not, but if you're getting a few colours through your hair, it might be difficult for a new hairdresser to figure out what the colours are...

I was asking my hairdresser about getting my hair done abroad, and he said he'd give me my colour card to bring abroad with me so that if I went to a wella salon abroad, they'd know what colours he'd put in etc.

My friend promptly asked her own hairdresser for her card (saying she was going abroad) so that she could avail of the good deals in other hairdressers. Maybe you could just ask for your colour card, but it'd probably be easier to lie:o

Thanks for the reply amz. I never thought for a second that finding out the colour they used on your hair would be sneaky!

Especially if you are sticking to the same brand of colour (in my case Aveda because it's vegetarian and low chemical). I assumed it would be similar to getting your glasses prescription.

It has really put me off getting my hair coloured professionally. I didn't like the staff in Whetstone (their customer service and knowledge of hair colour was terrible) so went to Moyo Hairdressing thinking they would ring up the old place and get my usual colour, I found out when seeing the end result they obviously didn't. Their customer service was outstanding but my hair colour was terrible.
