Anybody have any opinions on which would be a better office suite for a new macbook? iWork or say the 2007 home&student edition of Office?
I know I can do a 30 day trial but anybody who has been using either or both of these for a while your comments would be greatly appreciated thanks!

And dont try to convert me to PC I have my mind made up!

If you are going to be collaborating or constantly receiving documents, spreadsheets, presentations with other people using Microsoft Office - then stick with Office. The interface is not as nice as the PC version (I kinda like the ribbon, but it's not in the Mac version), and it doesn't play nice with Expose (virtual desktops in Mac OS X, if you use it then Office 2007 will drive you crazy!). Nevertheless, Office 2007 may be the only way to go if you are always exchanging files with other people; iWork does open Office files but it often botches the formatting.

iWork is quite nice if you mainly use it to create documents, then print them out or convert them to PDFs before sending to other people. Keynote in particular is quite good for fancy presentations. The interface is generally less cluttered, and the apps load up faster.

That's my experience anyway! Hope it helps.

OpenOffice may suit you as it is a full featured office suite and free, its also microsoft office compatible, not sure theres a office 2007 for mac, you mean office 2008?
