    Hi
We've just been told by Principal we can no longer take uncertified sick leave at all. Can he change our conditions of service like this?

your note above is exactly the situation, you are totally entitled to take sick days like before and not present a cert for first 2 days. However, the school cannot get a sub so from a school's perspective its more difficult but for you personally, there is no change in conditions, you are entitled to be sick without a cert as before until day 3.

No he cannot change your conditions of servic. Get your schools union rep. to have a word with him. I know of a school that ask all teachers to get a cert but they pay for it . Having a cert means the school get paid for cover.
