Like many other people out there, I've just bought a Samsung NC10 (it's excellent, btw). Though it will hardly be its primary function, I'm wondering if anyone else has played games on it with much success? I've come across this list but I don't own any of them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Specs
    # Processor: 1.6-GHz Intel Atom N270
    # RAM: 1 GB DDR2 RAM
    # Chipset: Intel 945 GSE Express
    # Integrated Graphics: Intel GMA 950 64 MB VRAM
    # Hard Drive: 120 GB HDD, 5400 RPM
    # Wireless: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR
    # Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home

I use mine all the time, mostly for surfing and streaming videos from it to my PS3. Don't play many games on it cos it doesn't have the horse power to do so. If I have the need to have a bash of something, I do have a load of emulators on it from C64 (CCS64) and Atari ST (Gemulator) to Neogeo (NeoRageX) and Mame and ScummVM (mostly used for playing the old lucasarts point and click adventure games).

    half life
    quake
    age of empires
    starcraft

basically just go back 7-10 years and you'll get some brilliant games.

I have Half Life and FFVII PC Ultima Edition along with a Snes emulator and games.

If you haven't played Max Payne then definitely try it out!

I have the vast majority of the games on that list in your link as well as most others of that same era. Perhaps I should get one of these Samsungs as an excuse to play the ones I missed out on at the time. Where do I get a good price on one of these ?

Max Payne runs on my aspire one, same specs as yourself.

So your basically looking at older games, or small games.

    I'd recomend:

    Plants Vs Zombies
    Peggle
    World of Goo
    Max Payne
    Age of Empires II
    Theme Hospital
Grand Theft Auto 1 (Free to download i believe)

    +1.

Bought one a few weeks ago, €363 delivered - ordered lunchtime Monday, had it Tuesday morning. Only place I could find cheaper was laptopsdirect, but for the sake of the fiver or so difference wasn't going to risk their customer service.

Half Life wasn't that playable on my eee 1000 tbh, may fair better on the NC10.
