Seems that acupuncture actually does work! And I thought that it was nothing more than a load of hocus pocus. We may have reached a stage where acupuncturists are finally acknowledged for the magnificent work they do. About time IMO! :)

Think you missed the point of that study somewhat Samson.
At 8 weeks, mean dysfunction scores for the individualized, standardized, and simulated acupuncture groups improved by 4.4, 4.5, and 4.4 points, respectively, compared with 2.1 points for those receiving usual care (P < .001).

Personalised acupuncture performed no better than standardised acupuncture and neither of them performed better than faked acupuncture. That means acupuncture doesn't work, or at best that the training and ethos of acupuncture is basically irrelevant. Anyone can poke you with pins or even just something sharpish and you get the same effect. It's a placebo effect.

Sorry atomic horror. I don't want to stifle the debate. But samson09 has been warned several times not to just cut and paste from naturalnews.com, and to not consistently refer to papers he hasn't read and doesn't understand, so I deleted his post.
