I found the post "Still too soon" very interesting and it prompted me to put up this post.

Better give you some history. Was married for 30 years, had a lot of troubles over the years, had counselling numerous times but towards the end we gave up on the marriage - there was nothing left to save. The marriage finished about 5 years ago with the house sale etc happening nearly 4 years ago.

The first few years were great - the independence and setting up my new home. I was very happy with my own company and felt less lonely than I had been whilst married. Went out with friends for meals, to pubs and gigs. My best friend is in a relationship for the last year and a half and I am now feeling lonely and would love to meet someone special but am also terrified at the thought of it. Also, how to meet someone? As mentioned, we were going to pubs etc and I haven't met anyone. I am quite shy and reserved and am stepping out of my comfort zone even with this post but here goes, can I please have your advice? Please don't mention a bridge club!

I certainly don't want to get married again. Not too sure about online dating but I could have a look. Can you recommend any?
