Bitbuzz and O2

O2 texted me a while ago to say I could use Bitbuzz wifi for free, so, waiting for a bike shop to replace a tyre, I went down to the local Bitbuzz hotspot to try it.

But when I logged on, it was looking for me to 'top up'.

I tried giving myself a username and password, but - apart from using the voucher the guy in the shop gave me - there seemed to be no automatic free access.

    I emailed O2, but nary a word.

Has anyone else used it successfully?

the first time I logged on to Bibuzz it recognized that I was using an iPhone and let me on for free. Have a chat with the mods on the O2 Forum and they will make sure your number / iPhone is registered

Thanks, CivilEx - where's the O2 forum, please?

    Thanks very much.

Edit: tried the site, but it tells me I'm not registered (which I was - didn't realise you were talking about O2's forum, thought it was a boards one), and demands that I sign up; when I tried to sign up using the details I'd given, it said my email address was already in use... and around and around. Kludgy kludgy kludgy.

Edit: Got good help from O2's call centre - really nice people. I hope they fix that not-having-a-login-button thing, though.

Did they resolve why you couldn't get the free access? What was the problem

I *think* they did, but won't know until I go to a Bitbuzz hotspot next. They said they nuked my account and set up a new one; however, I forgot to ask them if it was password-protected...

We shall see next time I'm in a Bitbuzz place.

If you have an issue registering for the talk2O2 forum you can email me at talk2O2@o2.com and I can help you out with it.

Glad you got the bitbuzz thing sorted out

    Hi,

Rather than registering for a Bitbuzz username, just click the O2 logo on the main portal page. This will allow you to register your phone for free.

Instructions & screenshots are available at http://www.bitbuzz.com/iphone

    Alex
