Has anyone been Audited?`

I just got an email asking for the details of a survey I did a few weeks back.

It said;

We are writing to notify you that, in accordance with BER Assessors Code of Practice and in line with S.I. No. 666 of 2006, BER Assessment Number XXXXXXXXXhas been selected for a Data Review Audit 4 which relates to the survey form (including sketches) for the dwelling.

I'm fairly happy with what I did, hated getting that email though! Has anyone had one?

Yea, it's very common.

It seems that they pick at random so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I had one a few weeks back and I got an email yesterday to say they wanted another one. Its a random process and I'm not too concerned about it because I think it should be done regularly. My only problem with it is that its the usual SEI arms length approach to everything. I think the auditors should visit the assessors place of business just like every other statutory body does. Whats to stop someone doing another survey report and proper sketches and calculations to make themselves look better when all one has to do is fax, email or mail copies to SEI?

That's a good point....I haven't been audited in about a year and a half
