Just finished first year in this course.
Before Christmas its 22 hours a week (18 for lectures 4 for tutorials) and after christmas its 21 hours a week (18 for lectures 3 for tutorials).
Its not too bad a course either, the modules arent that bad for first year anyway.
    Semester 1
Maths: If you have any sort of a pass in leaving cert maths youll get through this alright.
Financial Accounting 1: Basically all been done for the leaving cert.
Management Accounting 1: Some of this would have been done for leaving but its basic enough anyway.
Microeconomics: Not the most interesting subject but near 50% of your exam is multiple choice so its grand:)
CIS 1: Can be fair boring but the lab hour is grand.
Communications: Depends on the individual but i hated it. Involves a presentation. No final exam.

    Semester 2
CAP: Accounting on the computer. Not too bad once you get the hang of it. 2 labs and 1 lecture so its not bad.
Financial Accounting 2: Same as the first semester bar 1 or 2 new topics.
Management Accounting 2: Same as semester 1.
Macroeconomics: Same layout as micro. Easy enough but can be boring.
CIS 2: No final exam and straightforward. You learn how to create your own website too so its not bad.
Marketing: Best thing about this subject is that you drop it for 2nd year.

You can get through first year with little study so its a good course for that. More time for nights out and such:) Apart from communications youll have little or no work to do outside the course hours.
Sorry about the late reply only saw this post today.
