Where to get furniture?

I have moved into a new house and need to decorate a few rooms. I must confess that I am lacking slightly in the cash department so unless im getting significantly more for my money, I would like to stick to 1500e-1800e price range.

    Im looking to get

A table with 8 odd chairs (dining table)
a couple of decent wardrobes (mirror on the outside?) (approx 5).

I live down in Kerry so whilst I can go traveling or pay delivery, being in the region would be helpful.

    Many thanks.

    hiya
I have just set up a company that focuses on low cost furniture packages for first time home buyers (among other services) I provide the furniture flat packed which means that you save by assembling (or getting some handy to assemble) it.

As i am just setting up and looking for my first orders - i could do you a great deal....

Let me know if it interests you and i can email you some images.....

    Best Regards
    Laura

    Hey there

If you're not set on having only new furniture, check out these sites for ppl recycling bits and pieces and selling off stuff as well.

www.adverts.ie (free stuff section - you've prob found this one though! seeing as you're on boards :) )
    www.donedeal.ie
    www.jumbletown.ie

and this one is stuff ppl want to give away free, its dublin centric though but maybe if its worth a trip or you have a nice friend/relly up here to collect, you'll get something : www.dublinwaste.ie

    good luck

Also try www.gumtree.ie and www.buyandsell.ie - There are lots of people leaving Ireland at the moment and trying to get rid of almost new furniture in a hurry.

We furnished a majority of our house via the local Oxfam which specialised in furniture and from "antique" auctions (which often just sell second-hand items).

My feeling is there's no point in buying new (with the exception of mattresses) until you find something you really really love. If you're just trying to get the basics, you might as well buy second hand and save your money for the perfect, high quality pieces later on.

    Happy Shopping!
