Farley's definitely gone. Danny Riordan is off to France (possibly La Rochelle) I believe.

Dunne and McCarthy are rumoured to be going which is worrying.

There are a few players coming in. Bernie Upton, Brian Tuohy has been all but confirmed (Cornish Pirates say he's joining Connacht, CB haven't said a thing so far), Mark Melbourne and Dennis Hurley from Munster and Mike McCormish from Otley are all likely.

Wish it worked the other way too. Ye could have Troy Nathan...

TN won't be renewed hopefully, and with Hurley there we'll have stepped up the quality of the back three. TN out and DH in is a swap I am absolutely happy with.
Not sure that DH would displace the current Duffy, Carr, Bibo combo though. Bibo is the most likely candidate, but he is great defender and solid under the high balls, with good hands. All he lacks is out and out pace.

Think he signed a one year contract extension like Keatley (correct me if I'm wrong)

I think you're right! Where would Carr go as a matter of interest? GP surley to a team like Northampton or something.

If he has any sense he should hang around Connacht and play his way into Irish plans.

I know it p!sses off Connacht fans something awful, but no matter what, as long as they are treated as a "development" province, they will keep losing their best players, but lets not forget that if there wasn't a reasonable chance of getting these players back, they never would have been shipped off in the first money. After all, academys are run and funded by provincial teams own coffers first and foremost and subsidised by the IRFU.

All I'm saying is, Leinster will be down to one recognised out-half in the squad next season.......there's no point overpaying some journey man that offers nothing to Irish rugby...

Yes your right, did a bit of research. The rumour came from a usually reliable source, not anymore by the looks of it!

It was in the papers a few weeks ago that he was going to Munster. It was just before the Munster-Connaught match and they said Munster fans would get a look at their new signing.

Sounded to me at the time that that got him mixed up with Felix Jones - I think they just got it wrong.

Yeah, the papers down that way got him confused with Felix Jones. Apparently they all look the same to them.

The IRFU funds the provinces centrally as far as I know. The provinces don't get their own gate money etc...

It's disgraceful that the IRFU are letting Irish players go . The extra money from the leinster munster match on gate receipts alone would have funded connacht seeing as they only get half of the funding of the other provinces.

I would be seriously annoyed if I was from connacht..It seems like the IRFU are looking to get rid of connnacht as they tried a few years ago only on a long term basis this time...

The IRFU doesn't get that money though, it goes to the ERC as it was a HEC match. But you're right otherwise, its pretty f***in annoying how Connacht is constantly treated like sh*t by the IRFU.

They might get some of the overall TV revenue, but surely not any of the gate receipts are you sure?

Still can't believe they're letting irish players go.....

The irfu gets gate receipts from pool matches, and home quarters IIRC - after that it all goes straight to the HEC.

For the most part, he'd be part of Bradley's token emptying of the bench on 75 mins. Even in games where Keatley wasn't on form or we could have done with a change of direction at 10, Bradley was loathe to bring him on.

I honestly can't remember him getting more than half an hour in a game all season and that was when Keatley went off with a knock.
