NCT & Windscreens..

    Hi,

    Wondering if someone can shed some light on 'how big' a crack in the windscreen has to be these days to fail the NCT? I got hit by a rock from a truck on the N7 roaadworks, the crack is circular and low enough (not direct line of sight) but is about the size of a satsuma / small orange (thought I was dead when it hit but luckilly it bounced off).

    Anyway, anyone got any ideas ? Don't really want to go replacing the windscreen as the cracks have not got any worse...

    My mechanic told me that generally up to the size of a 2euro coin is ok but any bigger will be hassle. Any chance you've got windscreen cover on your insurance?

    Sounds like it's too big to pass the NCT, but i'm not 100% sure
