Recieved my copy of the book "Standing in the Shadows of Motown : The Life and Music of bassist James Jamerson", in the post this morning. It's a "must have", not just for all bassists, but for anyone interested in an insight as to how this music was made and recorded. There are transcriptions in bass clef form of the music and it comes with two cd's. You can isolate the bass which is great for learning his amazing lines. The songs are played by some of the biggest names in bass today, who were all influenced by Jamerson. The book is published quite a while, but better late than never.
